Sihanoukville is Cambodia’s leading seaside resort with numerous beautiful beaches around the peninsula. All of the main beaches are lined with little beach bars and restaurants offering cold drinks, beach umbrellas and chairs, seafood BBQ, evening parties, water sports and more. There are several nearby islands with good snorkelling waters and white sand beaches – within a 40-minutes to 2-hours boat trip. The waters of Sihanoukville are warm (consistently 27-31°C) and provide home to a variety of corals and other marine life including anemones, sponges, shells, colourful fishes and moray eels, amongst the most common. Boat trips on the Gulf of Thailand are very popular and easy to organize as well as diving excursions. 

There are also many sights around the city which are interesting to explore as the port, the fishing village and some monuments. At the top of the Sihanoukville Mountain stands Wat Chotynieng, a pretty modern temple and a good spot for the spectacular view of the city, the islands and the beaches from Otres beach to the port. 

Kbal Chhay Waterfall are at Khan Prey Nup Village, 8.5 km from downtown Sihanoukville. The multiple falls are pleasant and very popular, especially on weekends for picknicks. They are at their best in the wet season with deeper swimming areas and clean flushes of water.
